War Room Set Pieces (#1)

Original Size - 3 Pieces (each 36X48 inches)

This series of large-scale pieces was used as set backgrounds during the time following the attacks of 9-11.

Project Requirements: Design a series of posters to be the set backdrop to the newscasters in the "War Room" of Studio B.

Approach: Using symbols of the United States such as the Statue of Liberty, the American Bald Eagle, and The Declaration of Independence, the goal was to create a cohesive series envoking a spirit of patriotism. The idea was to create this feeling of strength, and patriotism without distracting the viewers attention from the important news being delivered. The background was kept rather dark with splashes of deep, earthy reds and yellows so as to let the news of the time remain central.
